Let It Snow
It finally snowed yesterday, although it was nothing like the major storm the hysterical weatherpeople had been warning would hit us. Nonetheless, the children could hardly wait for the snow to hit the ground before they were outside playing in it. The girls immediately gathered materials for a snowball fight and were lying in wait for The Punk to get his coat on and get outside. He was a little confused and upset the first time they pelted him because we have spent the last six months telling him that throwing things was naughty and threatening him with dire trouble if he does.
But once he figured out that throwing snow was the exception to the rule and he was not only allowed but encouraged to hit them back, he was totally over the moon and positively giddy with excitement. I suspect we will now spend the next six months shouting at him about throwing stuff in the house again, but I guess it was worth it to see them all having such a great time.
He's got a pretty good arm and he's a fast little bugger. He managed to nail the girls a couple of times despite the fact that they are bigger, faster and stronger. He's also smart, managing to get The Princess in the side of the head when she wasn't looking.
There really wasn't enough snow to build a proper snowman but that didn't stop clever children...they wanted a snowman and they built one, even if he was only six inches tall!

Maybe snow is better in the south because it's so much more rare. I love watching the big fluffy flakes fall, but get tired of it fast!
I'm rooting for the punk - after reading about how his sister torments him. Yay for the punk!
